-- Sarah: Changing the Narrative's post: --

Cuts to disability benefits aren’t just about money.

They are about whose lives we choose to protect, and whose lives we quietly decide are expendable.

Right now, Britain is cutting PIP, freezing incapacity benefits, and shrugging off the damage as if it’s inevitable.

The disabled community is frightened. And for good reason.

We know our history.

We know what happens when society decides disabled people are “too expensive,” “too dependent,” or “not worth the investment.”

Aktion T4 didn’t start with gas chambers.

It started with cuts.

With economic arguments.

With the quiet withdrawal of support.

With the belief that some lives cost too much to be worth saving.

And today, under capitalism, the same dangerous logic is creeping back.

If you can work and generate profit, you’re valued.

If you can’t, you’re quietly treated as a burden.

Some disabled people are applauded for being “productive”, others are seen as literally worth less.

This is not just cruel. It’s wrong.

Your humanity isn’t defined by your ability to work.

Your worth isn’t measured in pounds, productivity, or tax receipts.

And here’s the truth that too many people forget:

Disability is the only marginalised group you can join at any time.

You. Your family. Your friends.

No one is immune.

If we let society ration dignity for some, it’s only a matter of time before it rations it for more.

This is a crossroads.

We can stay silent and let history edge closer to repeating itself.

Or we can stand up, speak out, and demand that disabled lives are treated with the dignity and protection every human being deserves.

Please don’t look away.

Please don’t shrug and move on.

Stand with us. Speak up. Share this. Sign the petition:
