Reactive Abuse Awareness:

Image
Reactive Abuse Awareness: Reactive abuse is often a trauma response. It's what happens when someone is repeatedly provoked, antagonised, manipulated, harassed, lied about, threatened, or pushed beyond their limits. What many people fail to acknowledge is that those who engage in abusive behaviour rarely talk about what they did to create the reaction they later use as "proof" against their target. They don't talk about the name-calling. They don't talk about the lies. They don't talk about the stalking. They don't talk about the boundary violations. They don't talk about the threats. They don't talk about the attempts to recruit others into campaigns of hatred and harassment. Instead, they focus entirely on the reaction. A reaction they often spent weeks, months, or even years trying to provoke. Kind people don't obsess over people who have blocked them. Kind people don't repeatedly talk about someone who wants no contact with them. Kind pe...

Chances:

Image
We give people more chances than they need, and more explanations than they deserve - because our intention is resolution. The problem is, not everyone shares that intention. Some people will take your words, twist them, and repurpose them into something they can use to justify their behaviour.  Not because they misunderstood you - but because their goal was never understanding.  It was harm. Once you’ve seen it, you can’t unsee it. Look at the patterns:  – Who rallies others instead of resolving things directly. – Who hides public attacks behind the word “accountability”. – Who thrives in group pile-ons and audience validation. That’s not growth. That’s performance. And the moment they realise you see them clearly? That’s when it escalates. The truth is, I gave chances. I communicated. I clarified. And now I’m choosing distance - not because I don’t care, but because I care enough about my peace not to stay around energy like that. For those of us with CPTSD, this hits d...

Let’s Talk Safety in the Film Industry:

Image
Let’s Talk Safety in the Film Industry: The film industry can be an incredible space — creativity, collaboration, storytelling — all coming together to create something meaningful. It’s where ideas come to life and voices are amplified. But like any industry, it isn’t without its risks. And the truth is, recognising those risks early doesn’t just protect your career — it protects your wellbeing too. One of the clearest warning signs is a lack of transparency. When a production is vague about contracts, payment, roles, or expectations, that isn’t “creative freedom” — it’s uncertainty being normalised. You should always know exactly what you’re agreeing to, how you’ll be credited, and whether you’ll be paid. If those conversations are avoided, deflected, or rushed past, it’s worth asking why. Pressure is another red flag that often gets overlooked. Opportunities in this industry can feel rare, so when someone says “decide now or lose it”, it can be difficult to pause. But urgency like th...

What I’m Learning About Boundaries (And The Times I Still Slip):

Image
What I’m Learning About Boundaries (And The Times I Still Slip) Boundaries are one of those things that sound simple when you say them out loud, but living them is something else entirely. I’m learning that maintaining boundaries isn’t about getting it right every time, it’s about catching yourself when you don’t. Because I do slip. I still get roped into replies, I still find myself trying to explain, trying to get people to understand, trying to bring facts into conversations that were never about facts in the first place. And that’s where I have to pause and check myself, because the reality is you can’t reason with the unreasonable. Some people are committed to misunderstanding you, committed to twisting things, committed to getting a reaction, and no amount of calm explanation is going to change that. That’s been one of the hardest lessons for me, because I care. I care about truth, I care about fairness, I care about people seeing what actually happened, and that part of me will ...

When Boundaries Expose the Truth About Freelance Work:

Image
When Boundaries Expose the Truth About Freelance Work There’s a pattern in freelancing that people don’t like to admit exists. Everything starts off clean—clear agreement, defined work, mutual understanding. You show up professionally, you deliver what was asked, and because you take pride in what you do, you often give more than the bare minimum. And then it shifts. The work expands, but the agreement doesn’t. What was agreed becomes stretched into “just one more thing,” then another, then another—until you’re no longer delivering a project, you’re absorbing expectations that were never part of the deal. Not formally. Not financially. Just quietly added, as if your time is flexible but your boundaries aren’t supposed to be. And that’s the part people don’t say out loud: some don’t see freelancers as professionals with structure—they see them as people they can keep pulling from. Until you stop them. Because the moment you reinforce the original agreement, the moment you say, this fall...

Closure & Boundaries:

Image
I don’t need closure from people who refuse accountability. I used to feel like I did and it opened up opportunities for people who pretend to be kind to be even more abusive.  I no longer allow them to harm me under the guise of 'kindness'. They know exactly who and how they are and kind isn't one of the descriptors. 🔥🔥🔥 Kawaii Doll Decora 🌸 KawaiiDollDecora.uk Alt text: Pastel kawaii-style quote image with a soft pink, lavender, and peach gradient background filled with hearts, sparkles, clouds, and a rainbow. Cute characters include a bunny, heart-shaped lock and key, a teddy bear with a plaster, and an angel girl symbolising healing and protection. Centred text states that closure is not needed from people who refuse accountability and rejects abuse disguised as kindness, ending with flame emojis to emphasise strength and boundaries. Broken Friendships:

Image
💔 Sometimes you have to accept that people’s actions don’t always match their words. I recently learned that someone I trusted — and even gave another chance to — wasn’t being honest. It’s been painful to process, especially when all I needed was space to heal, not judgement or interference. I’ve realised it’s always better to work through problems with communication and understanding, not with gossip or division. Real friends respect space, boundaries, and truth — even when things get hard. They don’t twist stories or try to turn others against you. I know what was said, and I know it wasn’t true — but I also know I can’t change it. It’s sad to lose someone you once looked up to, but sometimes peace comes from walking away quietly — still wishing them well, but knowing you can’t go back. ❤️‍🩹 Love people from a distance if you must, but never condone manipulation, disrespect, or attempts to control your relationships. Support should be offered with care — never forced. I don’t ...
