Proud to be British, you cry, uncensored and loud, Yet silence the voices that won't join your crowd. You claim to protect women, children, the weak, Until they disagree, until they dare speak. Then come the assumptions, the rumours, the lies, A story invented before truth even tries. You fill in the blanks with narratives made, Where facts disappear and fiction gets paid. A joke about flags, a wink and a grin, While threats hide beneath the humour within. "Let's find where they live." "It's only a laugh." Yet somehow it's always The vulnerable who feel the aftermath.
