Systemic Mislabeling in Healthcare:

Image
Autistic people are labelled “abusive” far too easily — especially in medical settings. Being in pain, crying, shutting down, or struggling to communicate is not abuse. Autistic distress is not aggression. I’ve had medical records filled with claims that I was “abusive” while I was literally immobilised in hospital — unable to move, in severe pain, and being shouted at. I couldn’t have hurt a fly. Yet I’m the one who left with bruises as a disabled patient. Those labels don’t just disappear. They follow you. They affect how future professionals treat you, whether you’re believed, and whether you get help at all. This is what happens when systems mistake disability and trauma responses for “bad behaviour”. It’s harmful, it’s lazy, and it puts disabled people at risk. Distress is not abuse. Crying is not violence. Autism is not a character flaw. Sarah Wingfield  Independent Disability Advocate  #chronicillnesswarrior #autismawareness #disabilityinclusion #strongertogether ...

I am Disgusted at the hospital lying again...

I have just heard on the news that a little child has died from being dismissed and going back to the hospital I have been dealing with, from lack of diagnosis of a majorly recognisable condition without pain relief! I have put a complaint into the same hospital about the lack of care and clinical negligence I received from / in the same department, thankfully I was not at a point in my life where I could have died, however as a disabled mother being left to fall off a high bed, having the pain relief of gas and air taken away and then being left on the floor, hit with the door and prodded (and much much worse all in a previous log/blog) and they did not care then, and they are pretending to care now by labelling themselves as having a high level of care 'usually'. Instead of an apology they have made false and offensive allegations towards myself and my husband that will consistently affect the level of care every time I would need to go into hospital by writing abusive and ...

Recent Physio Appointment: Acupuncture

I was referred for acupuncture to the Physio, and I had my appointment today which was impressively faster than usual. The lady physio that dealth with me, 'A' was the same one who had dealt with me in the past and even though I was somewhat skeptical about acupuncture and treatment she did do well. She went through everything with me and made me feel comfortable. She was great today and I underwent the acupuncture straight away which was a surprise as I was expecting to have to have another appointment for it to have been carried out. The acupuncture took the heaviness and pressure away and allowed me to relax for 15 minutes, I have had pain tonight but I am willing to see how the acupuncture goes. It is now 20:50 and I am in an extreme amount of pain, so lets see how I am after next weeks session, this is extremely unpleasant :(
