Raya Films - Cult Night:

I had the pleasure of playing a floor manager in the Raya Films movie production of Cult Night, on Wednesday.
Caroline and James were absolutely wonderful people and you can see how much hard work and dedication goes on behind the scenes of a movie!
As soon as I arrived they were so pleasant and welcomed me and had me first in hair and make up with the wonderful Amy. AmyAlicemakeup on instagram.
Amy and I discussed her background in make up artistry and how she got involved and she was exceptionally professional and made me look ten years younger! Definitely talented!
As others arrived, I was so impressed and inspired by them, everyone had different yet exceptional backgrounds and experience and you could see how passionate all of us are to be involved in creative endeavors.
I spoke at length with Daniel about interviews and interviewing, a polite and calm gentleman who has done presenting and red carpet interviewing. We talked about actioning positive change and politics and he allowed me to add his instagram account as an opportunity may arrive for me in the near future, in which I'd be interviewing wrestlers.
The weather was unpleasant and cold but because of my excitement to be on a movie set for the first time, the sun was shining in my soul.
When it came to my scene, Caroline and James were exceptionally professional and accommodating to my differences, disabilities and needs. They directed me beautifully and we did several takes of my scene.
As a floor manager extra, I had a very brief scene where I approach the two cast members acting the interview, Daniel and Nicole in this case, and I check their microphones on their clothing and politely ask them if they're okay.
Once that brief check for each is done I exit the scene and they continue onto the interview scene.
It was amazing watching Caroline, James and Amy capture the magic on set and mesmerizing watching the interview and how they performed as their characters.
It was all very realistic and natural and you could tell immediately upon walking into the scene that that room was full of potential and talent.
After several takes, close ups and zooms, some slow motion of me moving the clothing showing the microphone better, my job was done and I was able to leave everyone else to work their magic!
Peter came to collect me and I changed out of my cream suit for the character into a more Sarah-like, quirky, pink outfit and we prepared for our long journey home.
This is a memory that I will forever cherish and shows me how far I've come from challenging myself and getting to know my disabilities on a personal level.
It shows me that all the hard work is always and forever worth it and this may be the first time I've been on a movie set, but in my heart and soul I know it won't be the last.
I was made for creative endeavors and I'm finally excited about my life and future, all the sacrifice and pain was worth it.
A huge thank you to the cast and crew for being exceptional people who were all an absolute gem to me!
It all just felt... right and I had a lot of fun too. There's nothing more one could ask for.
Here's to the future!
Thanks for reading my blog and life journey and I can't wait to see what's next.
