We Are the Dark Carnival — So Start Acting Like Fam

Image
We Are the Dark Carnival — So Start Acting Like Fam When people talk about celebrities, artists or anyone with a bit of notoriety, there’s often so much negativity attached to it. That isn’t what I want K•Doll to be remembered for. I want people to remember me as the hype girl. The weird creative clown with creativity running through her blood, but also someone who made people feel good about themselves. I want people to be able to say: “I remember when K•Doll told me my hair looked amazing.” “I remember when K•Doll told me to stay strong when I was struggling.” “I remember when K•Doll shared my music.” “I remember feeling like she was actually in my corner.” That’s the legacy I want. I already have some notoriety, and I actually downplay a hell of a lot of what I’ve achieved. I’ve been internationally published as an alternative model and built platforms across creative, professional and community spaces. But I don’t walk into a room screaming my CV at people. Most people who m...

You want to know real heartache?

Image
You want to know real heartache? I had to sign my child over to my parents when he was two years old and undergoing cancer treatment because I believed that was the only way to protect him from a system I no longer trusted. So please do not tell me that children are never separated from their families without serious failings by the parent. I have lived through a situation where disability itself was treated as a reason to question my ability to parent. There are also families of disabled children who have spent years trying to explain unexplained bruising, fractures or other symptoms before an underlying condition is finally identified. When professionals misunderstand disability or rare medical conditions, the consequences for families can be devastating. In some cases, by the time a diagnosis is reached, relationships and placements have already been profoundly affected. My son was, and is, incredibly precious to me. I became disabled during pregnancy and used a wheelchair, includin...

Family Time:

Image
Family Time: I had a wonderful day yesterday with my son, Brandon. ❤️ He had such a difficult start in life and has overcome so many obstacles, including leukaemia. The young man he has become inspires me every day. He is intelligent, creative and endlessly fascinating, and I will always be incredibly proud to be his mam. Yesterday, he introduced us to the work of Kane Pixels and explained how he developed his interpretation of The Backrooms. We watched some of Kane’s earlier footage while Brandon enthusiastically talked us through the story, ideas and filmmaking behind it. Brandon loves everything connected to creepypasta, horror and mysterious online worlds, and I love seeing how passionate and knowledgeable he becomes when discussing the things that interest him. I had missed him and my parents so much. I have been exceptionally busy and working incredibly hard behind the scenes, so this much-needed family catch-up meant the world to me. We also enjoyed a lovely meal together at The...

Floofy Bees, Small Wins & Reasons to Be Grateful 🐝🌼

Image
Floofy Bees, Small Wins & Reasons to Be Grateful 🐝 🌼 Today was one of those days that reminded me why gratitude matters. I've been making a conscious effort recently to focus on the positives, especially when life feels overwhelming, so I picked up a daily gratitude journal from Tesco. It's a simple little thing, but sometimes the smallest tools can help shift your mindset and encourage you to notice the good that's already there. This week has given me plenty to be grateful for. I've lost 10lbs using Foodvisor, which feels like a huge achievement. Not because of the number itself, but because it's evidence that consistency adds up. When you live with chronic pain, disability, and fluctuating energy levels, progress rarely looks dramatic. More often, it's made up of tiny decisions repeated over and over again until one day you realise you've moved closer to your goal. I'm making plans, meeting goals, and continuing to move forward, even on the diff...

The tiniest but most meaningful things:

Micah Sorensen | Meme-alos | #Spamily Sometimes it really is the tiniest thing that stops a full meltdown spiral. 😭💖 I just went to WAR with the house trying to find my medical vape. I stopped the washing machine mid-cycle, tore through bags, checked pockets, and was genuinely about to pull my hair out from the stress. Then I spotted this meme from the homies and it instantly made me laugh. 😭🪓✨ Not even joking… RIGHT after it cheered me up, I found my vape too. Thankfully it wasn’t in the wash. 💀😂 I love my spamily so much. Sometimes chaos + humour + community really does save the day. 🖤🔥 MCL 🪓🔥 Sarah | KDoll 🔥🪓 #Juggalette #Juggalo #Spamily #MCL #WhoopWhoop #FunnyUglyJuggalo #Fuggler #KawaiiHorror #AlternativeGirl #PinkAesthetic #ICPFamily #HorrorCute #KawaiiCore #DarkKawaii #ChaosGremlin #MedicalCannabis #NeurodivergentLife #ChronicIllnessWarrior #KawaiiDollDecora #UndergroundCulture #AltCommunity #Juggalos #PastelGoth #PinkAndBlack #FunnyMeme #EmotionalSupportMeme Alt Te...

Message of the Day:

Image
Message of the Day: Don’t confuse reputation with character — they are not the same thing. Some of the most toxic people move through life with glowing reputations, carefully curated, polished, and protected. But behind that image, their character tells a very different story. They know how to charm, how to influence, how to control perception. They maintain a façade so well that people rarely question it, and those around them often stay unaware of who they truly are. Meanwhile, the people with genuine hearts — the ones who move with kindness, honesty, and good intentions — don’t always get the same treatment. They don’t play games. They don’t manipulate narratives. They don’t perform for approval. And because of that, they’re often misunderstood, misrepresented, or even painted as the problem by those who rely on control and illusion. But truth doesn’t live in appearances, just like chronic pain doesn't have a face.  Character is what you do when there’s nothing to gain, and some...

Family Systems shape Identity:

Image
Family systems shape identity — sometimes through belonging, and sometimes through exclusion. This piece explores what it feels like to grow up not quite fitting into your wider family narrative. For many neurodivergent children — particularly those who are AuDHD like myself — being “quirky” or different can unintentionally place you outside unspoken expectations. When adult misunderstandings go unaddressed, children often inherit those narratives. Over time, those narratives can solidify into distance, labels, or long-held assumptions. The central pink stencil figure in this artwork represents visibility and difference — not as something wrong, but as something highlighted. The drips are intentional. They symbolise how identity can feel exposed when you are the one who stands out. This isn’t about blame. It’s about recognising how early environments shape confidence, voice and belonging. As adults, we have a responsibility to reflect on the narratives we create around children — espec...

Valentine's Day 💘

Image
~Valentine’s Day 💕~ Peter and I exchanged gifts and cards, then popped to visit my parents. We took my mam some birthday gifts in advance and dropped a few treats off for dad too. Bam was gaming but got a lovely hug from me. 🥰 After that, we headed back home, chilled out, relaxed, and had a cosy night in together. No rush, no pressure — just comfort, love, and calm. Sometimes the simplest days are the most meaningful. 💞 — Sarah Wingfield 💐 #ValentinesDay #ValentinesDay2026 #Love #QualityTime #SimpleMoments Alt text: A pastel, scrapbook-style Valentine’s Day collage in soft pinks and creams with cherry blossom accents. Sarah has long pastel-pink hair, glasses, and wears a black top with a heart choker; Peter has glasses, a full grey beard, and wears a dark jacket. A closed door:

Image
A closed door: I can’t stand being used and then discarded when I’m no longer convenient. It’s bad enough when strangers do it — but when it’s family or relatives? Nah. I’m done. If you choose not to be my family, I’m not chasing you. Unfriend me. Block me. I’ve spent too long putting people first and giving endless benefit of the doubt just because we share blood or we're family. If I’m not family to you, then noted. I wish I’d realised sooner, but here we are. What really gets me is that some of you never even tried to know me. You decided who I was based on assumptions, hearsay, or what was easiest for you. I’m exhausted from being the one who tries to keep the peace while others don’t care half as much. So if relatives are unfriending me now, I’ll let them. 🫵🏻💯✨ I’m done shrinking, explaining, or performing for people who couldn’t be bothered to show up properly, it's not like they treated me well when they were around anyway! That door is closed now. I already have ever...

We lost our wonderful Flo:

Image
I dedicate this song to my grandma Flo, who passed away yesterday morning — and to all of those we’ve loved and lost, who continue to live on in our hearts. ❤️ I hope my family can find comfort in this, and that it helps us all look back fondly on our memories of Flo. I still remember being a child, when Lisa Hall and I were Grandad Albert and Flo’s bridesmaids — the dresses we wore, posing for photos, feeling so proud to be part of their day.  I remember Flo making her chocolate crispy treats with cherries on top, and the moments that still make us laugh, like when my brother Albert — and later Lisa’s brother Dean — both ran straight into the patio door! I remember playing dolls with Elizabeth Conlon and Lisa, and that magical spinning fairy top you had, Elizabeth — us sitting in Grandad and Flo’s front room, making it spin and fly. ❤️ And of course the garden gnomes, the ornaments, all their beautiful decorations that made their home feel warm, welcoming, and full of character. T...

Focus on the Positives no matter what life throws at you!

We have moved home to a new property that meets my medical needs and we couldn't be happier here. Our son is blossoming into a little boy and he will be starting nursery next year! *shocked face here* Where! Oh Where! Did the years go? Feeling the same? I know how you feel! We are making new friends, old friends are moving on, and we are just following the path that life is leading us right now, it is not all sunshine and rainbows, we do have obstacles surpassed and more obstacles to conquer, but we prefer to focus on the positives and we find the negatives usually get sorted out when we're face to face with them. So it is nice to focus on the positives and be cheery and chirpy and looking forward to many years to come, growing old together as man and wife, watching our son grow up to be a man and filling our parents shoes when we reach their age and our son has a life of his own.  We all grow, we all move forward, and life is quite short despite it being th...
