Hiding away and hoping...

I have been hiding away and avoidant again for a while but now i need to speak up again... Xmas is over now and we had a nice xmas as we stayed at my parents and they had bought a sofa and a matching sofa bed for their living room just for us!! Can you believe it, changed their furniture just so i would be able to sleep over at xmas. I love them so much! We are still fighting for a stairlift, our son is 6 weeks old 1st january and I am still trying to get my 6 weeks check up. Whats happened about the stairlift? Well, my new consultant originally refused to send social a letter about me as he refuses all his patients since a check from the county council previously bounced therefore its been seriously held up. My SPD's getting much worse and a while ago now i was in hospital with the stomach pains, different to SPD pains and the consultant who saw me on the 10th the one who discharged me without telling me who i was reassigned to on the 10th Dec said that it would subsid...

One step forward, then pulled back by a noose around my neck...

..A noose that is unwanted and put there by so called professionals trying to help, who are just making things more complicated and causing more suffering if you ask me. (Don't worry was merely a metaphor.) I finally gained access to much needed services, i.e. Pain Management Clinic and Physio experienced in Manual Therapy, when we receive the initial assessment from Social Services, which *surprise, surprise* was based on some false information too! The ex consultant of mine and ex midwife accused me of 'exaggerating' my condition and stated that I sought access to Adult Services and additional help RE: my condition, without consulting them. Do these people NEVER write anything down? I asked, I begged, I screamed, I cried, I gave up and tried to help myself, as they refused me the help I need. So now I hope they are happy as Welfare have defined our young son as "a child whose vulnerability is such they are unlikely to reach or maintain a satisfactory level of health ...

Fobbed off much?

Well I was sent to hospital yesterday morning early hours by an out of hours urgent care DR. I had a female problem and increased bleeding and large clots etc.... (not very nice to state in a blog really is it, but anyway that was the problem.) The lady Dr that examined me was adamant I should try to have the examination without the use of gas and air, and didn't have my notes, so obviously didn't take me seriously and I am still suffering now! Internally I am in agony and she has made my SPD worse. I was crying during and after and got some gas and air but when it started working she took the gas and air off me. She then kept saying assertively which i did not appreciate, (my name) look at me! Look at me! Over and over. It got to the point where she said (my name) your pulse is normal! I replied, it has been normal before when I have been in agony with pain that it has taken morphine to reduce, and she kept saying (my name) look at me! over and over again. I then said you are ...

So disappointed.... my consultant really was below the belt today...

It's been a while since I updated the blog, that is because we have now moved house as we had to and we have been waiting for our broadband to be reactivated. I have become depressed due to the disability I now have to 'put up with' and got myself a psychiatric assessment as I was also sick of health professionals not taking me seriously and acting like I could just walk when I really cannot. I have accidentally tried as I have been half asleep or in a world of my own, and my body immediately reminds me that I cannot and I will suffer for it :( The diagnosis? That I am quite optimistic despite the situation and my concerns are for my baby to make sure my baby has the best he can have, also that the problems I am facing are very real and not psychosomatic and that anyone who would have to adapt to such a severe disability despite the cause would feel the same. This has also been confirmed by social services and my health visitor was fantastic, a great shoulder to lean o...

Consultant Appointment and Update: Monday 21st Sept.

Got collected from home today with my husband, my registered carer, via GP transport/ambulance to see my consultant. My appointment was at 10:30am. They were running extremely late and my spd pain was getting worse. Had to go to a seperate room to inject myself with clexane. I had weird bump sensations last night, pressure, very uncomfortable, bruising and tightening that would come and go. Whilst I was at the hospital waiting I broke down and wanted to come home as it was horrible sitting in the waiting room in absolute agony and crying my eyes out. There was no spare room at this point. When we finally got to see the consultant it was about 11:30am quarter to 12 but every second prior seemed like an hour with the pain I was in. The consultant said I had Braxton Hicks last night and checked me over, the TENS machine which had helped me the last few months has stopped helping now so I handed it back over. The consultant checked me and was extremely sensitive today, in fact he was fanta...

05 August. Confused.

On the 5th of August, a few things had happened since the enquiries. I am 23 weeks pregnant exactly today. My midwife was reluctant to make home visits in the first place and now I am seeing my consultant (who is now back from holiday) on Monday 10th August, my midwife has stated he will see to my ante-natal care. (Feel like her hands have been washed from me? ...yeah) So will I ever meet my midwife this pregnancy?? It is looking more and more unlikely. I still need to sort out a MatB1 form or something for SMP, get some stockings (as suggested by my Occupational Therapist 'E') and sort a few more things out like parentcraft/ante-natal classes. Luckily this time transport has been arranged via my GP for the 10th August. I will have to see what Consultant says in regards to referrals, as my midwife has said that PGP is more or less untreatable despite what page 77 of the NHS free book to all first time mothers states in black and white. So confused. I am anxious and scared as I...
