Court Preparation and Exhaustion:

Image
I am absolutely exhausted , as I have just finished putting my statement together and timeline with extensive evidence for a non-molestation order I'm applying for. This is the second time I've had to do it and this time I did it all by myself and included evidence as exhibits so it is literally court ready. I just want this part of my life over, I'm tired now and I'm absolutely fed up of abusers having zero consequences for their actions and the police not doing anything they're supposed to. You literally have to do everything yourself these days and it's especially triggering having to write up assaults and worse! My fellow DV girlies will get it. 💜 Chin up, chest out, and keep moving forward. I really could have done with people taking my legalisation of pepper spray Petition more seriously as it ends soon, in mere days and they're enabling abuse by not assisting in legalising self defence support. Guess we just have to be further penalised for fighting ...

I Don’t Fit — And I’m Tired of Pretending That I Should:

Image
I Don’t Fit — And I’m Tired of Pretending That I Should There’s a kind of exhaustion that doesn’t come from a single bad day, or even a bad week. It comes from years of accumulation, from layers of experiences that never quite resolve, from constantly having to brace yourself before anything has even happened. It sits in the body, in the nervous system, in the quiet moments where you realise you are already tired before the day has even begun. And that is where I am. Not just physically, but mentally, emotionally, and deeply, fundamentally exhausted. Because the truth is, I don’t fit. Not neatly, not comfortably, not in the way the world seems to expect people to. I don’t fit into the boxes that are presented as “normal”, and I don’t fit into spaces that claim to be inclusive until you exist in a way that challenges them. There is always a line, an invisible one, where acceptance quietly turns into discomfort, where support turns into silence, and where difference becomes something peo...

What's getting under my skin:

Image
What's getting under my skin: I’m getting genuinely tired of people speaking on me without taking even two minutes to fact check anything they’re saying. It’s not even about disagreement — it’s the confidence people have to be wrong while being loud about it. That’s the part that grates. I’ve built what I’ve built through consistency, through effort, through pushing myself even on days where my body doesn’t want to cooperate. Chronic pain doesn’t pause the work — it just makes it harder. And I still show up. 👊🏻✨ So when people come into my space trying to question, minimise, or discredit that without doing basic research… it’s not curiosity, it’s carelessness at best — and disrespect at worst. I already know I don’t fit neatly into this world. I’m not supposed to. I didn’t build my life to be digestible for people who don’t take the time to understand it. If I’m not for you, that’s completely fine. Not everything is for everyone, and not everyone has good taste. 💋 But what you w...

Always doing the right thing:

Image
Always doing the right thing may be exhausting - but it's necessary. There comes a point where you stop explaining yourself to people who are committed to misunderstanding you, and instead you start choosing peace over proving a point. Protecting your peace is not cruelty, walking away from harmful behaviour is not hate, and setting boundaries is not something anyone gets to shame you for.  If someone needs to villainise you for choosing distance over dysfunction, that says everything about them and nothing about you. We are grown, we are allowed to step away, we are allowed to choose calm over chaos, and we can do all of that whilst still being respectful.  Not everything needs a fight, not everything needs a response, and not everyone deserves access to you. Respect is not control, inclusion is not coercion, and boundaries are not up for debate. If we don’t align, that’s fine, but respect should always be mutual. Save it for the people who actually see you.

Image
Save it for the people who actually see you. I’m done shrinking myself to fit into other people’s assumptions. If someone has already decided who you are without listening, without understanding, without respect… that’s not your space to prove yourself in. Not everything needs your energy. Not everyone deserves your explanation. Your energy is precious — especially when you’re already navigating the world with extra weight, extra barriers, extra battles people don’t see. Save it for the people who actually see you. The ones who listen. The ones who don’t twist your words into something they’ve already decided. You don’t owe access to people committed to misunderstanding you. Protect your peace. Protect your energy. Choose where you are seen, not where you are judged. ❤️ Sarah Wingfield ❤️ Independent Disability Advocate KawaiiDollDecora.uk #disabilityinclusion #strongertogether #protectyourpeace #boundariesmatter #disabilityadvocate 🌸 Alt Text: A square, neon kawaii-style digital artw...

Twisting the Narrative:

Image
Twisting the Narrative: People have continued to alert me that Retrophiliac is still twisting the narrative and producing judgemental content that has directly contributed to real-world harm against me. At no point did I say that any disabled person is intrinsically better than another. What I stated — clearly — is that the message matters more than the money, while also affirming that disabled creators absolutely deserve to be paid for their work. What disabled creators do not deserve is for larger pages to prioritise monetisation so aggressively that they demand content be removed unless it benefits them financially, or to weaponise their platforms by spreading false narratives that result in smaller creators being harassed, abused, or financially penalised — as I was. This situation was never about denying payment to disabled people. It is about values, ethics, and responsibility. When a platform is used to harm rather than help — especially by targeting smaller advocates — the issu...

Accessibility Shouldn’t Hurt

Image
Sorry everyone, I needed to take some space today as I got completely dysregulated after everything this morning. I’ve been trying to get on a Ferris wheel for three years in a row, and today was meant to finally be the day. But after the way I was spoken to and the absolute malarkey trying to access support, I had to take some space.  When you’re AuADHD and already overwhelmed, you can’t just carry on as normal — I couldn’t go out dysregulated. It isn’t safe, and it isn’t fair. I ended up missing the Stockton Ferris wheel because of it. And that’s the part people don’t understand: disabilities put us at a disadvantage. When getting help is this difficult — to the point I end up in sensory overload and emotional dysregulation — then it isn’t accessibility. It’s a barrier dressed up as support. I’ve cried all day. I’m tired of fighting for the bare minimum. We even drove to Whitby, and theirs had already been taken down. Year four of the Ferris wheel mission, apparently! It’s honest...
