Celebrating how far I've come:

Image
Celebrating how far I've come: I’ve come such a long way. I know success is defined differently depending on who you ask, but since rebuilding my mobility and getting out of my wheelchair, I’ve had so many achievements to celebrate. ❤️ I’ve been featured in publications and media, worked as an actor, producer and filmmaker, appeared in movies and independent film projects, written blogs and books, created and released music, designed artwork and products, modelled, performed, spoken publicly and continued developing my own creative projects. Alongside that, I’ve spent years advocating for disabled people, survivors and vulnerable members of our communities. I’ve supported individuals through difficult situations, completed safeguarding and advocacy training, volunteered with charities and community organisations, founded support spaces, helped manage large online communities, created Aycliffe Alternative Magazine and used my platforms to raise awareness, celebrate local talent and ...

Accountability:

Accountability: Sarah Wingfield speaks on accountability, apologies, misunderstandings, and moving forward. 🎙️ Stitch with @New Mentalities | Motivation Accountability isn't about perfection. It's about recognising when harm has been caused, taking responsibility for our actions, and being willing to learn and grow. Misunderstandings happen, but honest communication and genuine apologies can make all the difference. The court of social media has adjourned:

Image
The #CourtOfSocialMedia has spoken. #Judge #Jury and #Executioner ...and I'm still proud of me. ❤️✨ This isn't new to me. 🙏🏻✨ I'm neurodivergent. I've spent much of my life watching people rush to conclusions, make assumptions, and form opinions before all the facts are known. I've seen victims blamed. I've seen rumours spread faster than evidence. I've seen narratives become accepted as truth simply because they were repeated often enough. Abuse is often loud. Self-defence can get lost in the noise and judged as harshly as the behaviour it is responding to. The world isn't always fair. I blog about both my highs and my lows because I believe in transparency and authenticity. I want people facing similar hardships to know they are not alone. I've been accused of having an "agenda" more times than I can count. If supporting local people, advocating for disability rights, amplifying community voices, and speaking against abuse is an agenda,...

Why Advocacy Matters:

Image
Why Advocacy Matters 💜 As an advocate, one of the hardest lessons I had to learn was how to advocate for myself. Helping others always came naturally. Standing up for vulnerable people, challenging unfair treatment, supporting those who felt unheard, and amplifying voices that were being ignored felt easy compared to speaking up for my own needs. Today, that has changed. I am proud to advocate for others, but I am equally proud to advocate for myself. Unfortunately, self-advocacy is often misunderstood. People who set boundaries, speak up, promote their work, challenge discrimination, or refuse to stay silent are often labelled selfish, narcissistic, attention-seeking, or worse. The reality is very different. Self-advocacy is not about ego. It is about recognising your own worth and understanding that your voice matters too. When disabled people, survivors, neurodivergent individuals, or anyone facing adversity speak up, they are not asking for special treatment. They are asking for d...

Unity in Community:

Image
Unity in Community: I stand by this, always. ❤️ Not everyone will understand your intentions—and that’s okay. What matters is what you consistently do. We all have a responsibility in how we show up, what we say, and what we put out into the world. Choose to uplift. Choose to support. Choose to build something better. Because we are stronger together — unity in community always. — Sarah Wingfield ❤️ KawaiiDollDecora.uk #StrongerTogether #UnityInCommunity #DisabilityAdvocate #PositiveImpact #KawaiiDollDecora Alt Text: A soft pink aesthetic quote graphic with bows and floral elements. At the top, “Sarah Wingfield – Actress | Author | Advocate” and “KawaiiDollDecora.uk” are displayed in a bright pink neon-style font. The main quote appears in white text over a muted grey overlay: “I’m someone who aims to help, and my actions will always show that — even when people don’t believe my words.” A red heart icon separates the sections. Below, the message continues about responsibility, positivi...

Not Everyone Who Stands With You Is Safe — Learning to Walk Away Without Guilt

Image
Not Everyone Who Stands With You Is Safe — Learning to Walk Away Without Guilt     There comes a point where you stop trying to understand people who were never trying to understand you, and I’ve reached that point—not because I don’t care, not because it doesn’t hurt, but because I’ve finally accepted something that took me far too long to learn. Not everyone who smiles at you is safe, not everyone who supports you is genuine, and not everyone who stands beside you intends to stay there. Some people stand beside you just long enough to see what you’ve built, and then they try to tear it down. Backstabbing isn’t always loud or obvious, it doesn’t always come with dramatic exits or clear warning signs. Sometimes it looks like support, sometimes it sounds like kindness, sometimes it feels like alignment—until it doesn’t. Until the tone shifts, the respect disappears, and you realise the same people you were protecting, supporting, and showing up for are the ones speaking against...

Low Spoons, Real Impact:

Image
Low Spoons, Real Impact Hey everyone, Today is one of those days where unnecessary negativity has drained my spoons faster than I can replenish them. I’m struggling — but I’ll be okay. I’m trying to anchor myself to my to-do list, because there are things that need doing and people I don’t want to let down. Even when I’m running on empty, that still matters to me. What people often fail to understand is that when platforms and positions are abused — when negativity is encouraged, amplified, or weaponised — it doesn’t stay online. It has real-world consequences. And if you’re disabled, already living with chronic pain, fatigue, and limited capacity, those consequences hit harder. I’m not expecting everyone to understand. I’m not even expecting them to care. Some people genuinely can’t — or won’t — see beyond themselves. But right now, I do need extra support. Not because I’m weak, but because I’m tired. Tired of constant battles. Tired of hate. Tired of being treated like a “nobody” peo...

Happy New Year

Image
Happy New Year everyone! Here's a video recap from 2025 (available to play at the bottom of this blog thanks to YouTube) and I hope we all smash 2026! In the best ways possible of course! Sarah ❤️ ~ Happy New Year ~ Alt text: A festive New Year collage on a dark background with a black and gold “Happy New Year” banner at the top, finished with a red bow. Below is a grid of photos showing cosy celebrations at home. Many images feature a person with long pink hair wearing a red beret and glasses, smiling, posing playfully, and making hand gestures in selfies. They appear with friends and a partner in relaxed, joyful moments. Several photos show a decorated Christmas tree with colourful lights and ornaments, a living room setup with TV and games, and a wall clock approaching midnight. A strip of Polaroid-style photos in the centre captures candid poses and group selfies. The overall mood is warm, intimate, and celebratory, marking the transition into the New Year. Real Inclusion:

Image
And now it makes so much sense — why life felt like hell for so long. I know who I am now. And if I’m not for you, that’s fine. Just don’t make it my problem. If you dislike me, at least dislike me for the right reasons — not because you’ve been puppeteered by someone else or you've taken on someone else’s narrative.  Think for yourself. Question everything. Believe nothing without evidence and a wider perspective. I genuinely want us all to win. But I’m tired of the BS. I challenge what needs to be challenged. And when someone’s values don’t align with mine, I don’t sabotage, argue, or chase. I simply step away. Others should do the same — yet some cannot help themselves. If they focused on their own growth even half as much as they focus on causing harm, they'd actually become the person they pretend to be: someone healing, someone contributing, someone supportive. If you see someone constantly claiming to be “inclusive” and “community-focused” — look at their actions, not th...

Not Their Enemy, Just Their Reminder:

Image
Not Their Enemy, Just Their Reminder: Some people see genuine support as a threat because they’ve been too busy being maladaptive, nepotistic, and sabotaging others while pretending to help. They weaponise their so-called “support” to harm, and they don’t want those they’ve pushed out of the community — their self-proclaimed elite — to have a real voice. They thrive on ostracising, silencing, and blacklisting others. I’ve lived it, so of course I get trolled and attacked for running a magazine that gives everyone a voice and refuses to leave anyone out. Because of a false community protection notice I received, there are now two organisations and a company I can’t publish about in the magazine. My genuine support for them was met with lies, manipulation, and abuse — and I can’t be involved with them anymore. I still write about the reality of what happens. I prefer positive and uplifting posts, but I can’t control how others behave — I can only call it out and focus on the spaces that ...
