Today I was spoken down to — simply because I’m white. Yes. Really. My skin tone. 😵‍💫 It’s not the first time, and let’s be honest, it won’t be the last — which is surreal, because I genuinely thought we were past this. For me, it’s bizarre because I have never judged anyone by the colour of their skin. That’s not who I am and not how I move in this world. I acknowledge discrimination in all its forms — but I choose helping over harming. Always. 🤘🏻 I was talking about the charities I work with and the support I give to women and girls globally — and I was told to “shut up” purely because of the body I was born in. It reminded me of being a child, watching people mock or fear what was simply different, instead of understanding that actions define character — not skin. My great aunt had Down syndrome, and people used to speak to her like she was less. Yet she was intelligent, warm, and deeply perceptive. Difference is not inferiority. Never has been.
