Closure & Boundaries:

Image
I don’t need closure from people who refuse accountability. I used to feel like I did and it opened up opportunities for people who pretend to be kind to be even more abusive.  I no longer allow them to harm me under the guise of 'kindness'. They know exactly who and how they are and kind isn't one of the descriptors. 🔥🔥🔥 Kawaii Doll Decora 🌸 KawaiiDollDecora.uk Alt text: Pastel kawaii-style quote image with a soft pink, lavender, and peach gradient background filled with hearts, sparkles, clouds, and a rainbow. Cute characters include a bunny, heart-shaped lock and key, a teddy bear with a plaster, and an angel girl symbolising healing and protection. Centred text states that closure is not needed from people who refuse accountability and rejects abuse disguised as kindness, ending with flame emojis to emphasise strength and boundaries. You can take the page, but not the voice:

Image
You Can Take the Page, But You Can’t Take the Voice There’s a reason I have more than one Facebook account, and it isn’t secrecy, dishonesty, or anything sinister. It’s survival. Alt text: Screenshot of a Facebook notification confirming an account has been reinstated. At the top is a green shield with a tick and the text “You’re back on Facebook. Your account is no longer suspended.” Below, a section titled “What this means” explains that Facebook reviewed the account and found it follows Community Standards on fraud and deception. The message ends with an apology for the suspension and states it was a precaution to help keep people on Facebook safe. The attacks on my advocacy haven’t stopped. If anything, they’ve become more coordinated, more calculated, and more revealing of how broken our systems are when it comes to protecting disabled people and those who speak up for them. My profiles are being falsely reported — not because I’ve breached policies, not because I’ve caused harm,...

Not Their Enemy, Just Their Reminder:

Image
Not Their Enemy, Just Their Reminder: Some people see genuine support as a threat because they’ve been too busy being maladaptive, nepotistic, and sabotaging others while pretending to help. They weaponise their so-called “support” to harm, and they don’t want those they’ve pushed out of the community — their self-proclaimed elite — to have a real voice. They thrive on ostracising, silencing, and blacklisting others. I’ve lived it, so of course I get trolled and attacked for running a magazine that gives everyone a voice and refuses to leave anyone out. Because of a false community protection notice I received, there are now two organisations and a company I can’t publish about in the magazine. My genuine support for them was met with lies, manipulation, and abuse — and I can’t be involved with them anymore. I still write about the reality of what happens. I prefer positive and uplifting posts, but I can’t control how others behave — I can only call it out and focus on the spaces that ...

Newton News/Newton Press, representation matters:

Image
Newton News/Newton Press, representation matters: To my friends who were waiting to see my Disability Awareness Speech photos with The Rotary Newton Aycliffe in the Newton News — I’m sorry to say I haven’t been printed again. Newton Press has failed to represent myself, my work, and my community. I had hoped this would be a chance to build bridges, to move past how poorly I’ve been treated in the past, and to ensure that our disabled community has a fair voice. I was even willing to repair those bridges and take down my factual review of my mistreatment if the paper had shown a sign of wanting resolution — by being fair, accessible, and inclusive towards myself and our disabled community. Sadly, that hasn’t happened. Personal biases clearly exist, and it seems they can’t be resolved — you can’t reason with the unreasonable. I’m sharing this here because I am a Newtonian, because the work I do matters, and because the people I help matter. The speech was a step in the right direction to...

Struggling with hometown bullying:

Image
https://www.facebook.com/share/p/18jhfpj2f2/ If I had known that simply asking for accountability and an apology would lead to being ostracised in my hometown — to sabotage, abuse, organisations lying to the police, a false Community Protection Notice, and the loss of my voice as a disabled advocate — I might never have spoken up. But I did, because I believed in truth and justice. Now, Ayclive have joined in by blocking me from their page, after mistreating me and failing to make reasonable adjustments for my disabilities. It really makes you feel the “love” from your hometown, doesn’t it? The support group that coerced members into giving false statements against me is still operating. The man in the photo — who refused me a lift, prioritised PR over disability rights, and also gave false information to the police — is now a councillor. Durham County Council removed employment support from DurhamEnable, and silenced my advocacy because I’m legally prescribed medical cannabis. T...

Advocacy in a Flare-Up: When the Body Says Stop, But the Cause Says Go

Image
Advocacy in a Flare-Up: When the Body Says Stop, But the Cause Says Go I'm still incredibly busy working behind the scenes on projects that matter. I never seem to stop. I’ve learned not to speak on things until they’re done—too often, those who’ve committed hate crimes against me have used early information to sabotage or further ostracise me. As always, I remain dedicated to improving our communities—especially for disabled individuals—despite the challenges I face. I continue to deal with maladaptive individuals and harmful behaviours, and I hold onto hope that justice or at least closure will come. I won’t be silenced. I’m simply choosing to work with organisations and platforms that genuinely support disabled voices. My advocacy continues—stronger and more focused than ever. At the same time, I’m managing chronic pain flare-ups, so I’m learning to rest and treat myself with kindness when needed. That self-care allows me to keep doing the important work that fuels me. Positive ...

Durham County Council and DurhamEnable Disability Discrimination case:

It fails to address any of my direct queries regarding your social media policy, and it is both unreasonable and evasive to cite "drug use on social media" without clarity, context, or a specific link to my conduct. No reasonable person could accept that as a justified or coherent explanation for terminating my podcast. At no point was any evidence presented that related directly to me. I welcome the recent press coverage that exposed this, as it is clear your actions lack both transparency and accountability. ...

If you don't like me:

If you don't like me, unfriend me off the internet 💯 We all know someone who stalks our pages, never likes anything, just keeps an eye on you for personal gain so they can criticise you behind the scenes and some have even sabotaged opportunities and caused discrimination and unfairness regarding my disability advocacy. Why they can't just unfriend or block - I don't know. My energy is reserved for uplifting others, not causing harm. Period. Do better. DurhamEnable the messenger of injustice:

Image
Image of Bambi French (DurhamEnable) and I at the podcast press shoot in Durham City, at cost to myself to attend. Disability Advocating is important! This isn't Megan Welton cropped out of the press shoot, it's me and my shoulder. My voice silenced, my podcast sabotaged. My advocacy, my voice, my employment support was CANCELLED by Durham County Council as they used my supposed employment support system to be the voice to express this injustice. I am still awaiting the alleged social media policies I'm alleged to have breached, even though I'm clearly independent and not affiliated to any specific organisation. How can I use DurhamEnable in good faith now? The podcast I did was meant to HELP ME find employment too! Where is MY right to support?! Where is MY justice? Opportunities sabotaged, clique-lead hate, ostracisation of disabled voices and anyone different is NOT okay. You're damn right I'm autistically hyper-fixating on this injustice - it should never ...

Silence=Complicity:

Image
"SILENCE WHEN IT PROTECTS HATE IS COMPLICITY" Systems need to STOP SILENCING DISABLED VOICES! Durham County Council by stopping my DurhamEnable podcast you also STOPPED ME FINDING NEW WORK OPPORTUNITIES and have basically OPPRESSED me. This needs to change. I filed a complaint so let's see if they realise how harmful they've been and how harmful using DurhamEnable as a messenger for podcast cancellation is.  Sarah Wingfield Independent Disability Advocate  #disabilityinclusion #strongertogether #disability #disabilityawareness #disabilitysupport #disabilityrights #takingthepip #StrongerTogether #WelfareNotWarfare #employmentsupport #NeurodivergentVoices  I action positive change - I'll never understand why people waste their time being a bully. 💋 Image description: A screenshot of Matt Stewart's LinkedIn page stating: "A leader recently asked me, how do we create psychologically safe spaces for our team when someone doesn't believe in equality for ...

She’s Been Sad for Too Long — Now She Fights

Image
She’s Been Sad for Too Long — Now She Fights ~There is still plenty to be done and plenty to appreciate, when you're naturally a powerful voice~ ❤️ She’s been sad for too long. Pushed to the sidelines. Talked over. Misunderstood. Silenced. Not because she was wrong. But because she was right in a world that would rather bury the truth than be accountable to it. She is disabled. She is autistic. She is tired. But not done. The systems failed her. The support services promised help, but quietly withdrew when it became politically inconvenient. The same people who said they stood for equality, backed off the minute her story became too “controversial” for comfort. She was ostracised, cast out of her own community, ridiculed by strangers who had never lived a day in her body. And worst of all, punished for being visible. They treated her like a threat when all she wanted was understanding. They treated her like a problem to solve, rather than a person to support. But she’s not here to ...

Durham county council and internalised ableism:

Image
When You’re Disabled, You Feel… Worthless Being disabled in this society often means being made to feel worthless. Useless. Like your existence is a burden. It’s not a feeling that appears out of nowhere — it’s internalised ableism, built from years of being treated as “less than.” You’re taught that your disability is a personal failure rather than a systemic issue. I live with this every day. I have skills. I contribute constantly through unpaid advocacy and awareness work. But I still feel like a burden, because society doesn’t value that work unless it’s paid. And when you're disabled, finding paid work is made needlessly harder — not because we’re not capable, but because we’re judged differently. I recently recorded a podcast with an employment support organisation, using my lived experience to help others. It was meaningful. But because they’re funded by Durham County Council, the episode was removed after a complaint — not about anything I said, but about how I manage my ow...

Legal Disclaimer : Durham County council

A County Durham in Crisis:

Image
A County Durham in Crisis : A Concerning Shift Away from Equality, Inclusion, and Disability Rights in County Durham By Sarah Wingfield When a county council begins collaborating with the Reform party and quietly renames roles to strip away references to “climate change,” “equality,” and “inclusion,” it sends a clear message: they no longer wish to advocate for the rights of disabled people or champion diversity. They no longer wish to hear from us—let alone include us. Durham County Council has breached the Equality Act by discriminating against me—a disabled person—due to my legal use of prescription cannabis. This discrimination occurred behind the scenes, using my prescription cannabis use—shared on social media—as a means to discredit and silence my voice as a disability rights activist and independent advocate. I have a meeting with an organisation tomorrow to address the concerning reality that our council may be actively breaking UK law. The dismantling of equality and inclusio...

Sisters of support: review:

Image
Why I Cannot Recommend Sisters of Support By Sarah Wingfield – Independent Disability Advocate & Blogger+ As a recent victim of sexual abuse, and someone who advocates for mental health and disability rights, I was directed to Sisters of Support by a police officer and a representative. It was verbally agreed—at my own home with police present—that the group would remain impartial as I sought an apology from a local press company for their verbal mistreatment. Unfortunately, this agreement was not upheld. One of the founders breached that trust. On 6th November 2024, after only two sessions, I informed the group in writing that I would no longer attend, as the environment had become unsafe for me. As a blogger who documents both injustices and healing, I wrote about how they failed to remain impartial and how this impacted my wellbeing. At no point did I break any laws. Shortly after, around 11th November, a founder of the group allegedly coerced members into submitting false ...

To the professionals who keep sabotaging my hard work:

Image
To the professionals who keep sabotaging my hard work: You hide behind a fake facade of community care and justice—so people defend your honour, unaware of your dishonesty. But I see you. I know what you did. You lied to the police. You manipulate behind closed doors because you can’t manipulate me. You smear my name because you can’t bend my spirit. But here’s the thing: every time you try to knock me down, I rise stronger. You pull strings behind the scenes and plot in the shadows—but I never needed you to thrive. In fact, you’d have done more for our town working with me. You can’t sabotage opportunities that live beyond your reach. And the ones you have succeeded to take? Watch them return to me—threefold—with karma on my shoulder. I am a warrior for fair treatment, especially for the disabled and marginalised. You can blacklist me locally, stalk my work, and whisper poison into people’s ears for three years—but I’m still standing. Still winning. Because what I do comes from truth....

Cropped: A disabled voice silenced:

Cropped: A disabled voice silenced: It’s disheartening to be excluded from the disability advocacy work I’ve contributed to—apparently due to my open, legal use of medical cannabis on social media. To then be cropped out of shared images feels unnecessarily spiteful. It sends a harmful message to neurodivergent people like me, especially those with RSD: "Your voice doesn't matter."  I feel erased. I spotted my shoulder in press coverage promoting another disabled woman’s voice, while I’m still waiting for the policies that allegedly justify my silencing. What rules have I broken by advocating for legal access to medicine? You don't support disabled people by erasing us. Period. I won’t share the image—for now. I still hope they'll do the right thing and include my podcast. Because disabled voices do matter and that INCLUDES mine! Silenced for Healing: When Advocacy Collides with Stigma:

Image
Silenced for Healing: When Advocacy Collides with Stigma: I am a disabled woman. I live with chronic pain and a body that rarely gives me a break. I fight every day to exist, to speak, to advocate—not just for myself, but for countless others like me. And yet, recently, my voice was deliberately muted. Not because I lied, harmed, or misrepresented myself, but because I dared to advocate openly about my legal use of prescription cannabis and share footage of me managing my pain with it. Yes, cannabis. The plant that has offered me more relief than a pharmacy's worth of pills. The medicine that finally helped me eat again, sleep again, move again. The substance that, when prescribed and used responsibly, gave me back parts of my life that pain had stolen. The drug that is responsible for me staying alive. Apparently, being honest and sharing that publicly is enough to get you blacklisted. Blacklisting is not something new to me - the world rarely makes space for me and I don't fi...
