Politics as I see it in the UK:

Image
This is my personal perspective and statement only based on factual information gathered. Politics as I see it in the UK: I have no issue with people sharing their perspectives — that’s what platforms are for. My concern is with systemic failures, not individual opinions. We are living with entrenched ableism, a lack of meaningful employment support, and the continued targeting of disabled citizens.  Support services are stripped away while assisted dying bills are pushed. Meanwhile, homeless veterans, elderly people, and young people are treated appallingly — yet society is more willing to help animals than humans. (I wrote “Let the Homeless Choke” under K Doll because this hypocrisy needed naming, ask Alexa to play it.) Disabled people are routinely exploited as free labour, or paid up to 13% less if they manage to secure employment at all.  Media misinformation fuels this harm. Mobility vehicles are not luxuries — they are essential tools that enable independence, hospital ...

DISABLED ARE NOT EQUAL CITIZENS:

WE ARE NOT EQUAL TO ABLE BODIED PEOPLE, WE ARE NOT WORTH IT: I AM MORE THAN UPSET. How many more rights do we have to lose as disabled individuals? COURSES AVAILABLE IN MY AREA: are FREE for people on JSA, and ESA (those worthy as they are capable to work) but NOT disabled individuals or disabled charity workers or volunteers. WE DISABLED HAVE TO PAY, FOR A COURSE THATS JUST MIXED CRAFTS! £3/hr, but when we are not receiving much in the form of benefits and are not able to work, how do we cope? This seems a small fee but it shortly adds up for those who cannot work, cannot improve their lives or financially progress. How do we meet other disabled people or MAKE NEW FRIENDS? In our area there are no DISABLED coach trips or meeting groups! (And especially not wheelchair accessible for any of the groups that do exist) I am working to set up the first SPD support group, if i ever get my own transport since there is no DISABLED TAXIS, and the only transport available ...

Social Services and benefits

With health professionals (midwives) scaring the sh*t out of me about how we will cope when the baby is born I took it upon myself to phone social services myself. I asked for help for now, told them our situation and everything. They have been more than helpful. My husband is now officially my registered carer, they have been out to visit us, opened up our world a bit by offering advice, support and cheaper transport options. This is the adult section but they have said since my husband is going to be there most days as he is now the baby would'nt be defined as 'at risk'; there is no psychological issues etc. Midwives are still commenting though. It has taken me years to conceive and now I have, I have got SPD and my life feels like it has turned upside down. They are looking into financial help as the govt. are not very favourable to couples under 25 who are married, and we live in a Private Rented house, don't get me wrong we have been trying for a council house for ...
