Breakthrough - no support:
I've been told I don't meet the criteria for breakthrough and it's wrong so I had to put them right today and will be sending photos over of my situation and clutter today to confirm I am legitimately and factually in need of their help and the scale they have has to allow people in my situation to be helped due to the seriousness of the situation and I can't see me not meeting the scale of necessary demand.
It's concerning as an independent disability advocate to hear they claimed I didn't meet the criteria when it's obvious I do unless they're failing disabled individuals nationwide by having such a discriminatory and weak scale.
People in my situation with my evidence have to be helped otherwise there's no point in having services that only help absolute extreme hoarders, my home is bad enough to have warranted fire services and my housing association to be involved and due to my disabilities I am doing everything I can to remedy the issues albeit slowly due to the restrictions my disability cause.
I'm being re-referred today and as I said to the social worker I won't accept no to help because I disagree and definitely meet the criteria necessary for help to be arranged and as proof will be emailing photos over today to get them to realise they're turning down someone legitimately in need.
As I said to Olivia today, the social worker, it's dehumanising and belittling to have to beg and fight for the help that's allegedly available and unfair to continue to be dismissed when you're someone genuinely in need of support and help.
As an independent disability advocate this concerns me greatly because how many others in dire need of help and support and meet the criteria for such are being turned down by them claiming they don't meet the 'scale'.
I said to her had she said it was based on a scale at the time of the assessment I would have been more than happy to provide the evidence necessary on that date, it would have been useful to know then so they could have secured the evidence and prevented me being turned down in the first place.
I have been receiving calls perfectly fine and yet they claim to not have been able to contact me over the last two weeks so I assured them it has to be an error on their side but I calmly and respectfully disagreed and explained I'd send the evidence over today.
I remained polite and argued my case and even said I appreciate their help, as well as explain how worrying it is to be told, in such a valid situation, that help won't be offered.
Let's see how quickly they re-decide once I provide them with the evidence!
