Of course the work is completely pointless if the Newton News and other publications refuse to share hard work or work with individuals on building the town up but some things can't be changed unfortunately and we have to work with who is willing and cares enough to work towards positive change; and that's reiterating the point of how necessary thoughtful communication is.
It's ok to disagree with someone, it's ok to share different perspectives, but what I'll never understand is people choosing disrespect when it comes to communicating.
No abuse is ever ok.
Our towns community and Newtonians deserve better and if it can happen to one (it's statistically likely to have happened to many already) but it could happen to you too.
More people need to put themselves in the shoes of others, especially when it comes to problems because blaming the victim gets us nowhere and creates more victims in the long run.
It doesn't ever matter how long you have known someone, if their actions aren't helpful then that's the facts. Simple.
We always have to work on ourselves and make sure we are contributing in a positive way as opposed to defending those who aren't.
Just some food for thought.
Lastly I would like to add that evidence is important, empty words just cause drama and it's unnecessary, people have the right to speak up about when they've been wronged and our community should care more as it is indeed our community that has the true power to change the wrongdoings into positives.
Accountability is necessary for a more inclusive and effectively supported community.
No abuse is ever ok and one victim is one too many.
