Medical Cannabis in the UK:
Stories from the Frontline:
Medical cannabis has been legal in the UK since 2018, at least on paper. In reality, patients face a maze of red tape, judgement, and impossible expectations. Those who need relief are often forced to choose between pain and punishment, as the government drags its feet on fully legalising medicinal use in a humane, accessible way.
This book is a collection of fictional stories rooted in real lives. Shaped by interviews, conversations, and shared frustrations, these narratives reveal the quiet resilience of people across the UK who vape, smoke, grow, and medicate to survive.
Every character is fictional, but the experiences behind them are painfully, recognisably true.
This is what it feels like to be a stoner in the UK—not for fun, but for relief, dignity, and the simple right to feel okay in your own body.
I am Sarah Wingfield, a prescribed medical cannabis user and Independent Disability Advocate. Through this book and my ongoing petitions on gov.uk, I hope to challenge stigma, educate the public, and support those navigating a broken system.
You are worthy of a life you can live, not just survive.
