Medical Cannabis Support Petition:
My new Disability Advocating Petition to the UK government has been supported and is now queued! Thank you!
Alt text: Neon graffiti-style text on a dark brick wall reads “FULLY LEGALISE” in glowing blue and pink, and “MEDICAL CANNABIS” in bright green, with paint splatters around the letters.

Allow medical cannabis users a card to purchase cannabis at pharmacies and choose how they administer it.
Background:
Medical cannabis is already legal in the UK, but in practice, access is severely limited. Patients face long waits, high costs, and inconsistent supply chains. This delays treatment, causes unnecessary suffering, and increases hospital admissions that could be prevented if patients had reliable access to their medication.
What we want:
We are calling on the UK Government to:
Introduce a Medical Cannabis Patient Card, recognised nationally, which allows registered medical cannabis patients to purchase cannabis directly from pharmacies.
Ensure pharmacies are licensed to stock cannabis flos and other medical cannabis products, making them available locally and reliably.
Guarantee patient choice in administration methods. Some patients cannot tolerate vapourisers, and find glass pipes or other methods easier, safer, and more effective for measured dosing. Patients should have the right to choose what works best for their condition.
Fully legalise cannabis for medicinal purposes across the UK, ending stigma and making treatment accessible, affordable, and consistent for disabled individuals and those with chronic pain or other conditions.
Why this matters:
Delays in access lead to avoidable hospital attendance and suffering.
Patients are currently left at the mercy of costly private clinics and patchy supply chains.
Allowing pharmacies to dispense medical cannabis would make treatment accessible in the same way as other essential medicines.
Recognising different administration methods respects disabled people’s rights and ensures pain management is practical, dignified, and effective.
The Government must act to bring UK medical cannabis policy in line with patient needs, medical evidence, and basic human rights.
