Polite Notice: Administration of Community Spaces:
Polite Notice:
As someone who moderates community spaces, I wanted to take a moment to clarify the standards I try to uphold and the values that guide my decisions.
Communities work best when people feel safe to participate, share their views, ask questions, and engage in discussion without fear of being attacked, ridiculed, or harassed.
I welcome:
✅ Respectful disagreement
✅ Healthy debate
✅ Different political viewpoints
✅ Constructive criticism
✅ Accountability
✅ Safeguarding
✅ Community safety
✅ Open discussion
✅ Treating people with dignity, even when we disagree
What I do not support is:
❌ Personal insults and name-calling
❌ Attacks on someone's character, intelligence, appearance, disability, or mental health
❌ False allegations presented as fact without evidence
❌ Bullying, harassment, intimidation, or targeted hostility
❌ Encouraging or justifying abusive behaviour towards others
❌ Attempts to divide communities by creating "us versus them" mentalities
❌ Mocking or stigmatising mental health
❌ Hate, discrimination, or prejudice towards any group
❌ The belief that being upset gives someone the right to be abusive
❌ Demanding accountability from others whilst refusing to accept it yourself
I also want to make something very clear:
I do not condone abuse from anyone.
Standards apply equally and consistently, regardless of whether someone agrees with me, supports me, criticises me, or holds different political views.
Moderation should never be about silencing opinions. It should be about maintaining a respectful environment where people can participate safely and constructively.
For those who have asked where I stand politically, my values have always centred around:
• Disability rights and accessibility
• Equality and human rights
• Safeguarding vulnerable people
• Supporting victims of abuse and violence
• Men's mental health and wellbeing
• Community wellbeing
• Inclusion and respect for others
• Fairness and accountability
Over the years, I have advocated for disabled people, carers, women, men struggling with their mental health, vulnerable adults, children, and marginalised groups. I have challenged organisations, councils, services, and individuals when I believed people were being treated unfairly.
I don't expect everyone to agree with me politically, and I don't require people to share my beliefs in order to participate in the communities I moderate.
People from all political backgrounds are welcome.
What matters is how we treat one another.
I support discussion.
I support debate.
I support people expressing different opinions.
What I do not support is:
• Abuse disguised as "free speech"
• Personal attacks disguised as "debate"
• Harassment disguised as "accountability"
• Hostility disguised as "standing up for yourself"
• Discrimination, hate, bullying, or intimidation
If I had to describe my politics, I would say I care far more about people than political tribes.
My focus has always been helping others, protecting vulnerable people, strengthening communities, and encouraging respectful discussion between people who may not always agree.
A strong community isn't built on everyone thinking the same way.
It's built on people treating one another with respect.

Alt Text:
A professionally designed community standards infographic with a soft pink and blue sky background. The main heading reads, "Building a Respectful, Safe & Inclusive Community," followed by the message, "Different Opinions. One Community. We can disagree without being disagreeable."
The left-hand column, titled "We Welcome," lists positive community values including respectful disagreement, healthy debate, different political viewpoints, constructive criticism, accountability, safeguarding, community safety, and treating people with dignity even when disagreements occur.
The right-hand column, titled "We Do Not Tolerate," lists unacceptable behaviours including personal insults and name-calling, attacks on character, intelligence, mental health or appearance, false allegations without evidence, bullying, harassment or intimidation, encouraging or justifying abusive behaviour, discrimination, hate or prejudice, and refusing accountability while demanding it from others.
At the bottom, a section titled "Our Values" highlights inclusion, equality, safety, respect, community, and kindness. The infographic states that people from all backgrounds and political viewpoints are welcome if they engage respectfully and encourages focusing on what unites communities rather than what divides them.
The overall design promotes respectful discussion, community safety, accountability, inclusion, and constructive engagement regardless of political beliefs. It is branded with Sarah Wingfield's logo and KawaiiDollDecora.uk.
